Sustainability Statement

At SGEM WORLD SCIENCE (SWS), sustainability is not merely a concept — it is a core value embedded in our mission, activities, and long-term vision. As a globally respected scientific society organizing high-level academic conferences, publishing peer-reviewed research, and building interdisciplinary networks, we recognize our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable world.

We are committed to advancing research and dialogue that address the most pressing ecological, social, and technological challenges of our time. This commitment is reflected across our scientific topics, which are carefully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — including clean energy (SDG 7), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), climate action (SDG 13), life below water (SDG 14), and life on land (SDG 15), among many others.
01

Scientific Sustainability

Our events — spanning geosciences, green technologies, social sciences, and the arts — provide a platform for thousands of researchers to present findings that promote sustainable thinking and innovative solutions. We actively curate topics on environmental protection, resource efficiency, climate resilience, and sustainable urban development, while also supporting new frontiers such as bioengineering, circular economy, and AI for sustainability.
02

Operational Sustainability

We strive to minimize the environmental footprint of our activities. Our conferences are hosted in venues that support green initiatives. We promote:

Digital accessibility and paperless practices, including digital proceedings and certificates.
Hybrid and virtual participation, reducing the need for unnecessary travel.
Recyclable materials and waste reduction at on-site events.
Energy-efficient logistics and sustainable catering partnerships.
03

Social and Institutional Sustainability

SWS promotes not only environmental sustainability but also institutional and societal transformation. We believe in equitable access to scientific knowledge, fair inclusion of researchers from all regions and backgrounds, and the strengthening of academic collaboration across borders.

We also encourage responsible research behavior through ethical peer review, transparent publication practices, and knowledge dissemination that supports both academic and public understanding of sustainability challenges.
04

Our Pledge

Through every conference, journal, workshop, and publication, SWS renews its pledge to sustainability — not as a passing trend, but as a living principle guiding how we think, work, and connect. We welcome all scientists, educators, and changemakers who share this vision and who see knowledge not only as a pursuit of truth, but as a responsibility toward our common future.
05

Commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

SGEM WORLD SCIENCE (SWS) fully embraces the vision and values of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our scientific, educational, and cultural initiatives are designed to contribute to this global framework by encouraging research that addresses environmental protection, social equity, clean technologies, responsible governance, and the long-term resilience of natural and human systems.

Rather than treating sustainability as a standalone topic, we integrate SDG principles across all our core fields — from Earth and Planetary Sciences, to Social Sciences, Green Technologies, and the Arts. Through every conference, publication, and collaborative platform, we work to transform knowledge into responsible action for the benefit of future generations.
