Plagiarism Policy: Upholding Academic Integrity

01

Comprehensive Plagiarism Screening

Plagiarism in any manuscript submitted for presentation or publication in SWS Scholarly Society conferences, proceedings, journals, or books is strictly prohibited. Upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, we implement multiple layers of plagiarism detection to ensure the originality and credibility of all published research.

We strongly advise authors to thoroughly verify the originality of their submissions before submission. Any plagiarism or high similarity percentage detected will result in immediate action, which may include revisions, rejection of the manuscript, notification of the author’s institution, and reporting to relevant scientific databases. To maintain the authenticity of academic contributions, we employ two industry-leading plagiarism detection systems:
02

CrossRef Similarity Check (Powered by iThenticate)

  • This advanced plagiarism detection tool compares submissions against a vast global repository of academic literature, including journals, conference proceedings, and books.
  • Its highly sophisticated algorithms allow editors to identify problematic overlaps, improper citations, or excessive borrowing.
  • The tool ensures that properly cited references are not flagged, distinguishing between academic integrity and unintentional similarity.
03

Plagiarism Detector – High-Precision Verification

  • This paid, continuously updated system has a 97% accuracy rate in detecting plagiarism.
  • Each manuscript is compared against scientific databases, social networks, university libraries, journals, periodicals, and indexed materials worldwide.
  • The system generates detailed similarity reports with percentage overlaps, identifying potential plagiarism risks.
  • Articles flagged with over 15% similarity (including self-plagiarism) undergo manual review by our editorial team.
  • If plagiarism is confirmed, authors receive notifications with required corrective actions, ranging from text revisions to complete rejection of the manuscript.
  • In cases of severe plagiarism, manuscripts may be added to plagiarism databases and reported to universities, institutions, and scientific indexing services.
04

Plagiarism Evaluation Criteria

Plagiarism checks are conducted using multiple assessment criteria, including:

Low Text Similarity (Passages) – If a single source similarity exceeds 4%, authors must revise the text and properly cite the original source. Even if multiple sources individually show 2-3% similarity, combining multiple sources without citation is still considered plagiarism.

High Text Similarity (Extended Passages) – If one source contributes a high percentage of overlap, additional analysis is performed. If permissible, authors will be advised to rephrase or properly cite the original work. Otherwise, the manuscript is rejected and strict actions may follow.
05

Types of Plagiarism

Authors should be aware of different forms of academic misconduct, including:

Direct Plagiarism – Copying words, ideas, data, or images without proper citation or permission.

Self-Plagiarism (Text Recycling) – Reusing one’s own previously published work without proper citation.

Paraphrased Plagiarism – Rewording another author’s work while retaining its structure and meaning without citation.

Improper Citation – Failing to quote directly or provide proper attribution when using another author's work.
06

Author Responsibilities & Best Practices

  • Ensure all work is original and properly cited.
  • Use quotation marks for direct citations and reference sources correctly.
  • Avoid reusing previously published content unless explicitly cited.
  • Review similarity reports and revise manuscripts accordingly before submission.
07

Final Remark

Academic publishing is built on trust, originality, and respect for intellectual property. Authors should conduct thorough literature reviews, cite responsibly, and adhere to ethical writing practices. At SWS Scholarly Society, we take great pride in ensuring the originality and integrity of all published works.
