ABSTRACT

Waste rock storage resulting from underground mining works or surface workings, the power plan ashes well as metallurgical and steel waste, is done in the form of dumps. Embankments as well slopes (which are inclined surfaces side that separates positive forms of relief), are characterized by the same geometrical elements, respectively, height and angle of embankment and their stability depends on the physic-chemical and mechanical properties of rocks that compose them. Cohesion and internal friction angle are the main mechanical characteristics of low cohesion and non-cohesion rocks, on which depends their resistance to shear, so and embankments and slopes stability. In this context geotechnical characteristics of rocks determined correctly, permit interpretation of deformation processes which can be found in the terrain and calculations of strength and stability of embankments and slopes, allowing for solutions design, ensuring their stability as well management effective dump and consolidation of the technological processes. Mechanization activities corresponding to consolidation of embankments and slopes refers to the work load of the material (sterile, rocks, clay etc.), its transportation, also pouring concrete, drill holes for the anchors and siting of the slabs for a more recently methods. The paper presents achievements by mechanization activities of consolidation of the some embankments and slopes in the method “with concrete slabs anchored” in order to make evident the technology and equipment needed to apply this method.
