PARAMETRICAL AND NUMERICAL STUDIES OF REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPES USED FOR MICRO TUNNELS EXECUTED WITH PIPE JACKING METHOD

ABSTRACT

In world, pipe jacking method had a very quick development. In last years there has been seen a tendency in metallic fiber reinforcement. In the first part the paper present o short description of the method and pipes reinforced with metallic fiber. The second part is dedicated to three dimensional numerical analize of pipe jacking method, to define their influence on pipe efforts, with considering the horizontal push force. In the third part are presented parametrical studies on fiber reinforced metal pipes used in microtunnels execution with pipe jacking method, in 3 different types of ground, with different depth and with or without action of LM71 train convoy. Models are realized with MIDAS GTS-NX. Calculation models were divided in 3 groups of ground (A, B, C), with 2 variants of loading (V0 – without convoy, V1 – with convoy) and 5 or 3 depth variants, for tracking pipes behavior depending on soil characteristics, instalation depth and existing of convoy. For the inner diameter 1410mm pipes resulted 22 models. In the final part of the paper the results obtained ( the maximum tensile stress) are preseted in tables and graphics and were established areas of application for pipes reinforced with metallic fiber by the parameters fctd, fctk,fl şi fctm,fl. The study shows that pipes with inner diameter of 1410mm reiforced only with metallic fiber can be used in the analyzed situations.
