ABSTRACT

The article presents selected results obtained by using of electrical resistivity tomography method in searching of different, mostly anthropogenic objects at shallow depths. The anticipated depth of the object is up to 20m. These objects are relatively small with dimensions up to maximum in first meters in diameter. In terms of the shapes of these objects it is possible to define two groups. The first group consists mainly of the objects whose shape can be replaced by a vertical or horizontal cylinder. The second group is represented by three-dimensional objects with significantly not prevailing one dimension - the body shape of a cube, block, etc. Fundamental condition for the successful geophysical survey of old mine workings is measurable physical contrast caused by anthropogenic specific object. Finding and detailed specification of the search object, namely to determine its dimensions and depth of occurrence and determine other characteristics. In those examples is discussed the optimal choice of arrangement of electrodes, in particular, is confronted arrangement Wenner-Schlumberger vs arrangement dipole-dipole. Further, due to the anticipated size and shape of a particular object (solving the inverse problem of interpretation) is an important factor in the choice of the optimal methods of measurement. Measurement methodology subsequently determined to construct an interpretative model in the form of 2D or 3D. In the conclusion are presented various interpretive practices to achieve maximum consensus of actual shape of searched object with an obtained interpreted model.
