ABSTRACT
The first part deal the relationship posed for the designer against climate change. The text shows the benefits resulting from the use of digital analytical tools BIM (Building Information Modeling) and the support of the architectural early design process on light of climate change. Widely understood alternative of design using digital tools in the urban scale enables on the examples of the analyzes and simulation (in terms of shading, the intensity of the exposure surface area covered by the scope of intervention of urban planning) selecting of optimal solutions aimed at the correct use of the potential in the architecture (life cycle context - use) as having impact on climate change.
The second part presents, among others, results of the research program undertaken at Riga. The result of the study was to determine the benefits of simulation, ie. conducting urban design process integrating and implementing the digital analysis for future areas (city) in terms of light exposure, sound and wind, taken later to correct design decisions in the architectural dimension.
In conclusion emphasizes, that the indicated the possibility of designing the urban area with the use of digital analysis tools, and the direction of the investment process ensure energy self-sufficiency design objects at the urban design stage under of a climate change.
