OPTIMIZATION OF THERMAL INSULATION – MAIN ASPECT FOR ENERGY AND COST SAVINGS

ABSTRACT
Any thermal insulation for a new building will lead to decrease in energy consumption. A wise choice of insulation will also lead to decrease in erection costs, and to an even better efficiency of the energy consumption. The choice of components for thermal insulation for an office building is presented. Case study for an existing new office building gives the possibility to see an example of a façade design that can change a building with irregular architecture and structural materials with low thermal resistance, and made it to become a high efficient energy building. The presented solution took into account first the thermal insulation criteria together with the stability insurance for all façade elements, followed by the economical optimization criteria. The solution resulted is composed from three different solutions adopted after the structure particularities, that were made to work together. Measures were taken to prevent cracks due to different behavior of materials.
