ABSTRACT
The air-to-water heat pump (AWHP) system used to provide domestic hot water (DHW) for a passive house is a renewable technology with a high performance. The experimental measurements are used to test the performance of an AWHP system powered by electrical energy provided from a photovoltaic system. An energy consumption analysis for DHW production systems using air-to-water heat pump is performed. With the data from consumption analysis we can design and choose the photovoltaic system. The photovoltaic system must have the justified power in order not to oversize it.
