ABSTRACT

The degradation of the scaffold influences on cell proliferation and differentiation. With the dissolution of the porous scaffold, the available surface for cells and dynamic fluid perfusion increase and induce higher cell proliferation and differentiation than static cultures. In this study the integrated approach to mathematical modelling was supposed, which includes the scaffold’s structure generation, CFD modelling of scaffold’s degradation and cellular automata modelling of cell growth. Calculation occurs iteratively until the simulated process and CFD calculated data is transmitted in the cellular automaton module on the defined iteration. Such approach allows to predict the cell growth with the relative mistake not more then 7 percent.
