The paper describes the regularly monthly repeated monitoring of selected soil properties on the ecotones between the forest and agricultural areas. The aim is to obtain information about the spatio-temporal variability of physical, chemical and biochemical properties of soils in response to the change of environmental conditions. Study area is in South Moravia (Czech Republic) in territories with different physical-geographic conditions.
Selected soil properties was monitoring during the period from March to November 2015. The results of laboratory analyses of soil samples were evaluated in terms of dynamics in space and time. The results show the different spatio-temporal dynamics of soil properties following the ecotone effect in the transition between forest and farmland. This confirms the higher activity in the upper part of the soil profile. The annual dynamics of soil properties of forest area has a different intensity and character than the dynamics of agricultural areas and the ecotone.
