RESEARCHES REGARDING THE EFFECT OF CROP ROTATION AND FERTILIZATION UPON THE PRODUCTION OF RYE AND SORGHUM ON THE EUTRIC PSAMOSOIL

ABSTRACT

The researches were made on the irrigated eutric psamosoil from southern Oltenia, with a reduced natural fertility. The rye and sorghum were cultivated in monoculture, crop rotation of two years, three crop rotations of three years and a crop rotation of four years on three agrofunds: N₀P₀, N₈₀P₈₀, and N₁₆₀P₈₀.
Concerning the influence of crop rotation, the highest rye productions were obtained in the three year crop rotations, having as precursory the annual leguminous plants: ground nuts (10,3 q/ha) and beans (11,0 q/ha). Regarding the influence of fertilization, it is observed that the rye production, in comparison with the unfertilized witness, has risen by 3,7 q/ha at the fertilization with N₈₀P₈₀ and with 4,5 q/ha at the fertilization with N₁₆₀P₈₀.
The production of beans sorghum cultivated in crop rotations is higher than the production achieved in monoculture. The highest productions, of 19,1-24,4 q/ha were registered in the case of the three year crop rotations, the production increases being highly significant. The influence of mineral fertilizers upon the production of sorghum was materialized through obtaining yield increases of 10,2 q/ha at N₈₀P₈₀, the dose of N₁₆₀P₈₀ in drought conditions has determined a decrease in the production of sorghum.
