ABSTRACT
In Romania an environmental strategy for the medium and long term has been developed over two decades, designed to analyse and propose solutions for prevention, rehabilitation and biodiversity conservation. In the solutions Rehabilitation, areas of the mining industry plays an important environmental factors are strongly affected by intensive industrial processes socialist era. The proposed technologies for soil remediation are usually chosen based on the destination of use for the land at the completion of the depollution process, the characteristics of the site, the availability of technology on the market and the budget allocated for the reconversion.
This paper is part of current environmental legislation requirements and aims to assess the quality of the soil as an environmental factor in the mining exploitation Herja, Jud. Maramures. We analyse the technical conditions under which the mining unit has been operating until the decision to cease the activity, environmental protection activities with a highlight on the natural attenuation processes and succession of local ecological communities.
