CALIBRATION OF MINOR BED RIVERS HYDRAULIC PARAMETERS USING MODERN SOFTWARE

ABSTRACT
One of the problem humanity is facing today is represented by the management of flood risk. Flooding caused by overflowing rivers in major riverbed is producing many material, economic damages and human losses in many countries across the globe. In order to reduce these losses, each country and region affected by the floods, need to develop a plan for flood risk management. One of the basic components is the flood hazard map, based on it drawing up a flood risk map that listed potential human and material damage in the affected areas. Elaboration of these maps is currently using modern hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, in order to obtain real results but also to forecast potential flooding that may occur as a stream in the event of extreme rainfall and can avoid the potential damages.
