ABSTRACT
BUGA exhibitions play an important role in creating new ways in landscape
architecture for over 50 years now. Nowadays, however, some newest technologies are
used during this process. In the past water was one of the subjects and they are
interesting examples of the ways in which this medium can be created. 2015 BUGA
Havelregion is a next step of this process and the water is mainly used to create spaces in the landscape. This BUGA is unique and breaks the rules of previous exhibitions.
Instead of one town and one park, in 2015 there were five cities and five landscape
complexes, which were established around the Havel river. Water as a medium plays an important part in this project: gives inspiration, creates beauty and becomes a tool in the hands of the landscape architects.

Keywords: architectural and landscape planning, water, water space, sustainable
development.
