REMOVAL OF NICKEL CATIONS FROM THE WASTE WATER ON THE ZEOLITE - CLINOPTILOLITE

ABSTRACT
Industrial activities change natural composition of natural water and turns into
waste water after polluted. Heavy metals and their compounds threaten the health of
people and also every living organizms with no hope for their elimination in a natural
way. Among so heavy metals belongs also nickel. Nickel and their substances belong
among toxical substances and they are written into list of „Priorite chemical substances“
of the European Union. This element can to be removal with sorbents utilising. The
article contents the results of the research of natural zeolite – clinoptilolite derived from
localities in Nižný Hrabovec. This natural and easily obtainnable material could be used
more in future and could replace methods using chemicals, which are by the way more
expensive, produce secondary waste, too. Sorption watch from the view operations,
effective and economically acceptable method of the heavy metals reduction at water.
