To improve the technology of opening and development of oil fields for increasing the completeness of subsoil use, the prospects of using the electric pulse method of drilling are discussed. The concept of creating an electric pulse tunnel system based on submersible source of high-voltage pulses with controllable formation of work space for increasing its maneuverability and creating special technological outputs in a rock mass for forming a cluster of slant and horizontal boreholes with most complete coverage of oil shelves, for location of geophysical monitoring equipment and for other purposes is based.
Developments of the project related to techniques for generating pulses, technical means of destruction, hardware control methods of destruction process and work mode of a installation can be used for drilling large diameter boreholes for thermal power engineering; boiler wells for creating repositories of nuclear wastes; boreholes for foundations of engineering objects in permafrost zone, including LNG (Liquefied petroleum gas) storages, in modular plants for mining valuable raw materials in severe geographical and climatic conditions of the North.
