ABSTRACT
Modern information and communication technologies bring some risks and threats to the institutions. Especially in the case of sensitive data many sectors work with. One of such sectors is the energy industry. The aim of this paper is to analyse the current state of building security teams which are responsible for managing the security of data available in the field of energy management in Slovakia. The first part of the paper is focused on the current legislation in this area, and comparison of the safety data management in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The starting point for the second part is the questionnaire survey, which aims to explore the state of safety data management in the energy sector. The final section on the survey results in identification of specific actions that should the person responsible for the management and security of data base in energy management bring to the organization.
