ABSTRACT
The paper presents results obtained by a team of Romanian researchers in the field of hydrogen combustion with oxygen enriched air in very high proportions. The own conception burner was carried out and tested in the experimental basis of the company Cermax 2000 Patents SRL of Bucharest, operating on hydrogen and oxygen enriched air (up to 90%). The hydrogen and oxygen enriched air are brought in the mixture area by convergent – divergent nozzles. The ignited jets of the two fluids exit from the combustion chamber with high speed, having a very good stability in operation. The flame temperature varies between 2050oC (corresponding to the oxygen proportion in air of 21%) and 2600oC (at the enrichment in oxygen of air 90%). The results of experimental tests show the technical possibility to obtain clean combustion products (water vapour), excluding environmentally hazardous pollutants.
