Forest and shrub areas are very important natural resources for the Republic of Kosovo. These national resources should be explored and used in a sustainable way as well as be preserved. Considerable areas of forest and shrubs are also available on the Goleshi Mountain (1019 m) with its surroundings. Forests and shrubs in the area are found in Palaeozoic formations. This variety of substrates reflects also the in floristic composition with the presence of Balkan endemic species assessed in the Red Book of Vascular Flora of the Republic of Kosovo. The explored area is in the Central Kosovo, in the territory of three municipalities: Lipjan, Drenas and Fushë-Kosovë. These terrains belong to hilly-mountains area. The climate is continental. Altitude ranges between 600 m to 940 m. Goleshi Mountain as a whole takes part in e annual average line of air temperature 10 ºC with the annual rainfall average in less than 600 mm. Anthropogenic factor with its activities (sometimes even negative aspect) is evident in these areas. According floristic analysis, the results obtained in this study show the presence of all groups of vascular flora, while there is significant dominance of Magnoliophyta’s and the presence of endemic plant species. In the phytocenological aspect (by principles and methods of the Zurich-Montpellier School; Braun-Blanquet 1964), forests and shrubs formations of Goleshi Mountain including the surroundings belong to class Querco-Fagetea, respectively to the ordo Quercetalia pubescentis.
