ABSTRACT

A new practice has started to be implemented in Kosovo, in this south-eastern region of
Europe, and it is 24-hour monitoring of vehicles and facilities with strategy for the
development of mines in Kosovo with the help of GPS system. These vehicles and static
facilities (the explosive storage) have a sophisticated system, which enables a precise
monitoring of movements in and around them.

Global Positioning System (GPS) currently presents the greatest achievements and
application in the communication technology. By this it is created the possibility of
supervision of the technical state of vehicle during transport and undertaking of certain
measures in case of notice of unforeseen situations.

In all of this, the global positioning system finds its role, which aim is to support in
monitoring of the transport process. These systems provide tools and mechanisms
necessary to better monitoring implementation of the transport network, the greater
security of vehicles and support drivers before and during transport.
