ABSTRACT
In the last few years, there has been intensive discussion in the public (both professional and non-professional) on the intensity and the need for mining and quarrying. However, the vast majority of European countries had to resort to a substantial reduction in the mining sector, due to pressure from environmental organizations. This obviously also concerns the treatment of extracted minerals. At present, the most frequently discussed commodities include gold. Among other things, it is also due to the fact that in the Czech Republic, the majority of registered deposits are located in protected areas. Another problem may also be cyanide leaching, which has been the most frequently used method for obtaining gold concentrate for many years. In the contribution, we try to find suitable alternatives for obtaining high quality, full-fledged gold concentrates.
