LITHOLOGICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL FACIES OF PALEOESTUARY BASINS ON THE EXAMPLE OF SENOMANIAN SEDIMENTS OF THE VANIEGANSK STRUCTURE (WESTERN SIBERIA)

ABSTRACT
The results of present monitoring of estuaries are shown a short-term state of metastable system. Therefore, in order to understand general long-term evolution of the modern estuaries, it is necessary to know a composition of analogue systems, which have already completed their evolution. In this paper, we are studying geochemical heterogeneity of the Cenomanian paleo estuary sediments from the Vaniegansk structure of the Western Siberian sedimentary basin. The chemical composition of samples was analyzed by X-ray fluorescence method and mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma
Based on chemical composition specifics, there are silica sediments (siltstones, sandstones, and mudstones), their ferrous and carbonaceous kinds, as well as carbonaceous sediments. Their geochemistry composition is similar to typical sedimentary rocks. In general, here obvious features of lateral or vertical variability of sediments through the vertical cross section are absent. For their determination we conducted a factor analysis on selections of silicate analysis and geochemical relations.
As a result, we established that the heterogeneity of the distribution of major oxides by 76% is determined by four main factors (PF1, PF2, PF3, PF4).The heterogeneity of the distribution of values of geochemical indicators by 80% is determined by four components (GF1, GF2, GF3, GF4).
The established connection between concentrations of macro- and microelements in sediments and their mineral composition, variations of saltiness level, and physico-chemical parameters of sedimentation is allowed to use the obtained results for reconstructions lithogeochemical facies of sediment formation.
