ABSTRACT

Vocabulary selection for training purposes is one of the most significant and difficult factors because the program developer has to select the set of words relevant for the aims of the course. Selected vocabulary should ensure the development of speech abilities and skills within certain number of academic hours. Internationalism are
helpful for demonstrating and testing pronunciation rules in the language since it is always a pleasure for a trainee to work on pronunciation words that he understands. We can use them when teaching the system of English syllables, when teaching reading,
giving examples for grammar rules even in the very beginning levels of General English (as a foreign language) or English for academic purposes. This system has proven its ability to help in learning to read English words. It is generally of little interest to
children, but always motivating to adults. This is not surprising because adults, especially engineers and technical university staff, prefer "systemic knowledge".
Including internationalisms is not only a linguistic but a methodological tool effective
in teaching English for adults in corporate groups.
