ABSTRACT

Higher education system in Romania is governed by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS). This is the only agency in Romania that provides external evaluation and institutional accreditation of study programs. It can be said that the monopoly on evaluation and accreditation, which slows accreditation process and disadvantage the universities. Standards set by ARACIS are not always aligned with legislative changes, which increases uncertainty and difficulty aspect of the accreditation process.
In this paper I will present the stuation of my faculty and my university from ARACIS acreditation perspective and I will propose the solution for a better evaluation sistem.
