GALORITHM DESIGN AND ITS REALISATION FOR EVALUATION OF INNER STRUCTURES CHANGES IN CT SCAN RECORDS

ABSTRACT

The aim of the work is an algorithm design and its realisation for evaluation of changes of inner structures layout in the picture and providing of experimental measurings on real data. The algorithm was designed and realised in the system MATLAB and with its help it is possible to compare target volumes. This algorithm works with DICOM data format, which allows using photos achieved directly from the imaging device.
For the purpose of the research there were chosen patients, who underwent computed tomography screening – CT and repeated CT screening due to the rescheduling. There were two patients included into the measuring. The research is limited by very small number of patients who undergo the screening twice during the treatment. The research was caried out in cooperation with the University Hospital in Ostrava.
Using the created algorithm there were compared the data of the two patients, who underwent CT screening repeatedly during their cancer treatment. Results show that the volume difference between the first and second screening is significant (on condition of the same patient´s position during the screening). This volume difference of the first patient was 45.4% and of the second one 20.5%. These results can influence the progress of the whole treatment, but the possible treatment after-effects as well.
