ABSTRACT

Terrestrial laser scanning is a surveying technology that enables measuring distances to surfaces/objects in an automatic way, fast and easy providing a spatially dense point clouds. Nowadays, the development of the laser scanning technology in terms of the provided information as quantity and quality has increasing its use in the field of civil engineering. The paper emphasis on basic theory regarding laser scanning and instrumental accuracy of point determination. In this paper will be presented, also, some applications of static terrestrial 3D laser scanning in civil engineering projects.
