ABSTRACT

Demands for electric energy in modern society are increasing. More than 60% of energy
in Serbia is gained from coal combustion in power plants. In order to ensure continuity,
it is crucial in time to start planning for development of the new mines. Planning itself
comprises all aspects of mine’s influence.
Besides defining lifetime of the coal exploitation according to annual projected
production, it is necessary to make the plans and modifications related to relocation of
populations, settlements and all infrastructural objects at given area.
For the roads of different categories which will be relocated, planning is very important.
With the development of the new open cast mine “Radljevo” significant road
infrastructures will be threatened. Thus, theirs new positions and directions must be
planned in order to satisfy all needs of nearby inhabitants, settlements, as well as new
mine and its purposes.
