LOW TEMPERATURE MINERALIZATION OF CUBANITE ORE OF NORILSK TYPES

ABSTRACT

There were studied the ore samples of Norilsk type using the methods of X-ray and
Mössbauer spectroscopy as well as scanning electron microscopy. This research was
conducted for the purpose of revealing compounds containing cubanite. Depending on
the element composition, there were found two series of the samples. There were
identified the inclusions having a high content of Cu, Ni, S. The earliest mineral is
pentlandite, the later one is cubanite which is present in two modifications: cubanite 1
and cubanite 2. The optical analysis confirmed the presence of the main mineral phases.
