ABSTRACT

Theoretical and practical conformity between planning and controlling of qualitative
parameters of earthwork constructions exists abroad. The relevant specifications and
regulations present objective correlations which allow to correct compatibility of used
control methods and characteristics. The paper presents the relevant correlation
dependency of the most used quantification characteristics of earthworks quality control
parameters in the Slovak Republic. A static plate load test is a standard, commonly used
and approved test. Currently, faster and simpler methods to evaluate the quality of
accomplished constructions are searched for, due to increasing demands on time while
the same number of qualitative outputs is kept. The presented dependency has been
objectified by means of application of static theory of impulse into quality control of
earthworks. These facts allow the application of several control methods, comparable
with methods used in member states of European Union in specific constructions with
different boundary conditions (climatic conditions, soil moisture of the specified layer).
