ABSTRACT

Geosynthetics are plastic materials, whose composition contains also organic materials
that are used in the construction industry performing different functions. In geotechnical
domain, one of the most important functions of geosynthetics is their reinforcement
purpose. Their purpose in this situation is to absorb the tensile forces of reinforced earth
massive and distribute it evenly on the surface. The result is to reduce ground
deformations and ensure stability, thus generally increasing the bearing capacity of the
ground. In this way there can be build slopes with small footprint, dams and retaining
walls all with the possibility of using different plants for the facing that integrates the
construction in any natural environment.
