EXPERIMENTAL STUDY REGARDING THE EMPHASIS OF INFLUENCE AREA FOR HEMISPHERICAL CENTRICALLY LOADED FOUNDATIONS

ABSTRACT

In the paper are presented some theoretical studies and experimental researches carried
out on models, regarding the deformation of the foundation ground for precast
foundations in punched holes. The experiments were performed in a clear wall test
bench filled with sand in two states of compaction: in loose state and in medium
compacted state. For pointing out the deformation, in the neighborhood of the clear wall
was placed a 2 cm thick layer of colored sand at 6 cm equidistance for the sand in loose
state (respectively 10 cm for sand in medium state of compaction).
The tests were carried out using precast elements of half-sphere shapes 22.5 cm in
diameter, the experimental program emphasiying the determination of the influence area
in the case when the model was introduced in the ground by simple punching or by
punching with granular material. The grid of the glass wall permitted the measurement
of the effective deformation of the colored sand layers around the foundation models.
