STUDY OF PRECIOUS METALS EXTRACTION RECOVERY FROM TECHNOGENIC WASTES

ABSTRACT

Global economic crisis whipped up the interest of precious metals producers to
thoroughly study matters concerning precious metals recovery not only from lean ores,
but also from refuse dumps, and industrial wastes. So, even though extremely low gold
assay of the most raw materials sources huge investments are inputted all over the world
to follow-up field explorations, different mining operations, equipment upgrades, and
technological advancements aimed at unconventional raw materials sources utilization.
There is observed trend to produce precious metals from recoverable resources,
technogenic wastes and pari passu from unconventional raw materials sources.
Study results of potential precious metals recovery from technogenic wastes of Akbakay
mining productions are given in this paper. We propose advanced technology of
valuable ore components leaching and sorption through processing fine ore fractions.
We managed to identify leaching, sorption-desorption and electrolysis parameters in
cyanide processes. Potential recovery of valuable components from above mentioned
material was proved. Strong correlations identified between solubility of non-ferrous
and precious metal-bearing minerals and changes of their chemical and mineralogical
compositions in leaching process is our basic scientific discovery, proven by
submicroscopic structures of obtained products.
