CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF VENTILATION FOR NEW HORIZONS (XII-XIII) IN THE MINE OF TREPCA IN "STANTERG"

ABSTRACT

"Trepca" mines in Stantërg, is one of the most ramified and deeper underground mine in
Kosovo and region. The ventilation of this mine was done by a ventilation fan that was
out of operation as a result of deepening the horizons and extremely branching corridors
and other mining facilities that made a need for fresh air flow in the depth of the mine.
In the `80-ies it was opened main ventilation shaft, and new ventilation fan was
mounted, which in principle was depressed blower for the needs to increase the capacity
of fresh air flow in the depth of the mine. By this paper we present a simplified
conceptual project which is one among the methods which will explain how to deepen
the mine and in particular the necessary parameters and the way of ventilation of two
new horizons in the mine depth (XII -XIII), of "Trepca" in Stantërg. it was studied the
situation of earlier workings, the current state of ventilation of the mine, by analysing
the directions of air flow, air speed, adjusting the ventilation system and ventilation
options models with descending and hoisting air streams.
