EVALUATING MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY TO CALIBRATING THE SECONDARY STANDARD VOLUME MEASURES, WITH A RULER ON THE NECK

ABSTRACT

The paper refers to the evaluation and calculation of the uncertainty of measurement in the calibration of secondary standard volume measures, with a ruler on the neck, which equips standard installation for liquids flow meter verification. Calibration involves assigning actual values to certain nominal values, materialized on a standard scale. For the design and construction of a secondary volume measure, it is necessary to take into account all metrological requirements related to the shape and materials from which they are built to ensure correct filling and complete emptying of the standard, the possibility of measuring the leakage time, as well as sufficient mechanical strength to prevent deformations that would change the volume during the measurement. Calibration is performed by the volumetric method using a metallic primary standard measure of the overflow volume, pipette, thermometer, chronometer. Evaluation of the measurement uncertainty of the calibration standard measures secondary volume with the scale to the neck, involves knowing the sources of uncertainty and the measurement uncertainty components when determining the volume with primary volume measurement and the temperature correction factor.
