ABSTRACT

The method was developed for aquatic ecosystems assessment of coal mining areas of the Rostov region on the basis of ecotoxicological approach. The method has been prepared taking into account the specifics of the region: the agricultural orientation, climatic conditions, the effects of realized for decades the restructuring of the coal industry, the liquidation of mines mostly "wet" method. The method is based on a complex biological approaches - bioindication and bioassay. It has a block structure. The set of bioassays was developed for the analysis of water and sediment toxicity. The set includes bioassays with ecologically appropriate test objects of different systematic affiliation and trophic levels. The list of test objects was compiled based of their ecological features that allows use them purposefully, taking into account the specificity of the water body. Inclusion of bioassay of phytotoxicity based on its universality and is compulsory. The presented method is based on expedition research data and tested on small rivers of basins Tuzlov River and the Donets Seversky River. Aquatic ecosystems of investigated small rivers can be characterized as vulnerable on a state of plankton communities.
