ABSTRACT

Wastewater treatment is an essential component of the protection of the environment, which has a significant impact on the state of groundwater, rivers and seas. Due to the lack of wastewater treatment followed by the destruction and extinction of many species of animals and plants. For purification of the waste water can re-use of waste water purification and reprocessing for life.
The subject of the study is to evaluate the efficiency of wastewater treatment plants in Limanowa (Poland).
The waste water treatment based on a mechanical and biological removal of pollution with activated sludge. The analysis of test results from the period 2012-2013 showed no fully effective removal of contaminants. Hydraulic load of sewage treatment plants in the period stood at 1,384.0 ÷ 3148.0 m3 ∙ d-1. Raw sewage flowing into the treatment plant in Lubaczow in the analyzed period were characterized by a very uneven quality composition. Swap hydraulic load of wastewater treatment have a limited stability.
The quality of wastewater effluent corresponded fully with the requirements specified in the water permit. Determined the average efficiency of removal of contaminants from wastewater, specific indicators was: BOD5 – 97.72 %, COD – 95.58 %, a suspension total – 95.25 %, Ntotal – 97.72 %, Ptotal – 96.37 %. Wastewater treatment has a limited efficiency, which confirms the increased nitrogen content.
