ABSTRACT

Protecting its information assets through defining, achieving, maintaining and improving security levels is essential for an organization to meet its objectives and strengthen its legal compliance and image. Many product applications within automotive industry with security risks are known, therefore organizations need to direct the implementation of suitable controls and mitigate unacceptable security risks as stipulated in customer requirements. The paper describes a case study, in which generic FMEA methodology is applied for identification and addressing of associated product security risks in production and logistic activities. The conclusion of the article describes lessons learned gained during risk identification and further risk elimination process.
