ABSTRACT
Implementation of satellite and contact monitoring of socioeconomic processes in the coastal zone of the Sea of Azov to evaluate their impact on the land use.
Analysis of changes in land use is based on satellite data from Landsat 5, 7 and 8. To assess the dynamics of natural and anthropogenic landscapes satellite images for the years 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015 are used.
Interpretation of satellite images is carried out in several stages, in each of those some specific surface types are highlighted. Each stage is based on spectral properties of various surfaces and their display features in different spectral channels. For example, to highlight vegetation and attribute it to classes distribution analysis and seasonal dynamics of the normalized differential vegetation index (NDVI) is used.
As a result of the interpretation land use schemes for different shooting dates are produced. Based on their comparison areas with the greatest changes are highlighted, which are selected as a polygon for contact monitoring. The results of satellite and contact monitoring results are summarized in a geographic information system (GIS) where they are compared and analyzed jointly.
