A MATHEMATICAL MODEL ON THE EFFICIENCY OF THE MECHANICAL WATER FILTERING PROCESS

ABSTRACT
The filtration is a hydrodynamic process which ensures the separation of a liquid – solid mixture. The paper presents a tridimensional mathematical model of the efficiency of the mechanical water filtering process. The mathematical model presented in this paper is based on a series of experimental values. The intake flow of the filter, the height and the nature of the filter layer are the variable parameters considered for conducting experiments and obtaining mathematical model. For transposition the physical model in mathematical model was used TableCurve 3D software. The research results have shown that the proposed model is able to predict the filtration efficiency of according to the parameters chosen for the experimental study (intake flow of the filter, the height and the nature of the filter layer).
