ABSTRACT
In general, groundwater in assessed on the ’one source-one plume’ basis, using generic groundwater screening values. However, since in urban areas groundwater plumes often are intermingling, area-wide management of contaminated urban groundwater offers a more cost-efficient promising risk assessment and remediation perspective. Moreover, application of groundwater screening values geared to the specific use and function could result in a more effective and cost-efficient groundwater quality management.
