SEISMIC REHABILITATION OF A HISTORIC BUILDING WITH MASONRY – WOODEN STRUCTURE

ABSTRACT
The paper presents the rehabilitation solutions taken for a 100 years old building – Music Faculty – placed in the historic center of Timisoara city. The weak points of the structure (besides usual damages appeared during the lifespan of the building) were first the foundation soil weakness - masonry debris in mortar mass of quicklime which also contains hardwood beams and remains of defensive walls together with their foundations from an old medieval citadel together with foundation solutions not respected by the original contractor.
