ABSTRACT
The paper is devoted to estimation the possibility of applying the methodology of land use regression (LUR) to describe spatial distribution of contaminants in urban soils. The estimation was carried out on the example of one of the districts of Yekaterinburg city of Russia. It included sampling and chemical analysis of soil samples, selection and calculation of geographic variables, creation and assessment of regression models. The study showed that the LUR approach can be used to solve the problem in question, but in order to obtain a qualitative model it is required additional information about the study area.
