THE USE OF RADAR INTERFEROMETRY IN THE CARTOGRAPHIC REPRESENTATION OF THE SUBSIDENCE PHENOMENON

ABSTRACT
The research from the last decades leads to a multitude of experimental civil works on the usage of the satellite determination technology with the help of synthetic aperture radar (InSAR). Starting with the first success in the domain of monitoring the terrestrial surface dislocation, put in practice by Bénédicte Freneau with his study – “La Clapiere”, continuing with the results obtained in monitoring the surfaces dislocation and the subsidence phenomena, the radar interferometry technique (InSAR) proves to be, in its evolution, one of the most modern solutions for the analyse, the study and even for the representation of the terrestrial surface dislocation. Due to the high precision it has nowadays, this revolutionary method, we may say that the radar interferometry with synthetic aperture (InSAR) may be successfully used in domains like geodesy and tele detection. The present paper aims to present in general lines the process of monitoring with the help of the technology offered by the radar interferometry with synthetic aperture (InSAR). We also intend to highlight the results presenting a study upon the cartographic representation of an area In Romania, affected by the subsidence phenomenon.
