ABSTRACT

Currently the Electron Probe X-ray Microanalysis (EPMA) is the leading method in
investigating of chemical composition of new minerals, which can be detected as small
accessories. The results of this method are required for registration of new minerals by
the IMA Commission on New Minerals and Minerals Names.

Six new minerals were found in other rocks from Baikal region by scientists of Institute
of Geochemistry. These morphology, chemical composition and paragenesis were
studied with Microprobe JCXA-733, Jeol Ltd, Japan. Some of new minerals were
indicated under electron microprobe. The special techniques was created for studying
new minerals in order to achieve the accuracy, required for data presentation to the IMA
Commission on New Minerals and Minerals Names.
