INFLUENCE OF BIOMASS ON THE STRUCTURE OF IRON ORE SINTER

ABSTRACT
The article deals with sinter phase composition of selected types of sinter with using biomass and without using biomass. The basic fuel component of sinter charge is coke breeze. As an alternative source of fuel to coke breeze have been used biomass - charcoal and oak sawdust as part of coke breeze substitution in sinter charge. Iron ore sinters generally consist of a few mineral phases, which determine the quality parameters of produced sinter. The study of sinter phase composition is very important for sinter quality prediction or some technological parameters tuning during production. Bio-sinter contained more calcium ferrites compared to the standard sinter with coke breeze used as fuel in sinter mixture.
