GIS can export its internal representation of the processed data to map layouts different quality. With the onset of GIS approach to creating thematic maps obtained by each. In terms of professional cartography maps these products are not always of sufficient quality, because creating map layouts are managed certain principles, which often tend to be unkept.
Thematic maps are specific to their content. Representation of physical and socio-economic elements is affected by the thematic characteristics for which the map is compiled.
Right choice methods of cartographic representation and compilation of cartographic scale is crucial for correct and accurate interpretation of the quantitative characteristics of the display phenomenon. The map layout also affects the choice of appropriate cartographic means of expression such as choice of fonts, colors, patterns and so on. In practice, it is necessary to observe these principles in order to improve the readability of the map, display a clear identification of phenomena and the overall increase in information capacity maps.
