ABSTRACT

3D terrain modelling and representation has become an important component of any geomorphologic, hydrological, climatologic, oceanographic and at not least, mining application. Developments in computer technology in the recent years have constantly revolutionized the computerized processing of terrain elevation models as well as the methods and graphical quality for the representation of results. For the Livezeni mining area in Romania, we performed a reconstruction of mining project development in relation to the surface. Thus, we used information on mining projects that we turned into 3D data using the ArcMap module of the ArcGIS platform.
