ASPECTS REGARDING THE USE OF GNSS TECHNOLOGY IN LOCAL NETWORKS IN ROMANIA AND COMPARATIVE STUDY WITH THE USE OF THE ROMANIAN POSITION DETERMINATION SYSTEM (ROMPOS)

ABSTRACT

This paper presents aspects concerning the use of GNSS technology in local networks in
Romania, in particular in Arad County, in order to establish a local geodetic network
through GNSS technology and, as comparison, the same network as determined with the
Romanian Position Determination System (ROMPOS). The methods used, the GNSS
receivers, the sessions and some aspects which have raised logistical issues and were
resolved through specific processes are presented generally. A comparative study has
been carried out, with the Romanian position determination system (ROMPOS), with
the specifics of the area and with the transformation of measurements using software
approved and designed by the Agency of Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising
(ANCPI), TRANSDAT 4.01. Measurement methods using GNSS technology and
methods of measurement with the use of the Romanian Position Determination System
(ROMPOS) are also shown. The coordinates resulted from the two methods used are
presented in comparison, in tables. In the end, the conclusions from the studies and
research carried out with regards to the use of GNSS technology in local networks in
Romania and a comparative study with the use of the Romanian Position Determination
System (ROMPOS) using GNSS technology are presented.
