STATISTICAL EVALUATION OF VIBRATION SIGNAL MEASUREMENTS IN ROTARY ROCK DRILLING

ABSTRACT

The paper is focused on statistical evaluation of random signal of vibration response of
drilling rig during rotary drilling of rocks. Vibration response is represented by the
signal of acceleration of vibration motion, which was scanned by piezoelectric
transducer of measuring system ADASH 3900-II. The scanning run parallel in three
orthogonal directions and the results were evaluated by statistical means. The basic
statistical dataset was represented by a random set of 90,000 values in each axis.
Vibrations were measured during various regimes of the drilling rig performance, with
different rocks and different settings of input parameters (thrust, revolutions) applied in
the process.
