MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION OF SURFACE TEMPERATURES ON THE FACADE OF AN EXPERIMENTAL BUILDING AT VŠB-TUO FACULTY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING
ABSTRACT
The original archaic buildings were not protected in any way from adverse external influences, resulting in degradation of structures and often the subsequent destruction of the entire building. People tried to protect the buildings and this led to that they invented plaster. The plaster, as a unique product of human activity, complements the surface of the building and impresses with its final appearance and often raises the aesthetic value of the whole building. Plasters are conditioned in the course of history primarily by the contemporary technical level and expertise, which differ from each other by the regional, geographical and climatic conditions. With the increasing pressure on the economic efficiency of buildings, apparent especially since the beginning of the last century, there has been a significant development of the technology of processing and technological processes which exclude traditional practices. Emphasis is placed primarily on shortening the lengthy wet processes, reducing plaster thickness and developing new technological processes using new elements such as the use of reinforcement layers for thin-layer plasters. The disproportionate reduction of the thicknesses of individual layers of exterior plasters may, however, result in its gradual destruction caused, for example, by external climatic influences. The article deals with the evaluation of experimental measurement of surface temperatures of external plasters on an experimental house situated in the area of the Technical University VŠB - Faculty of Civil Engineering in Ostrava.
